Strike Out SIDS

Two amazing families teamed up last weekend to Strike Out SIDS, with proceeds from the event going to SIDS research.

My friends, Jason and Amber, lost their beautiful baby boy, Isaac Scot, at 7 months to SIDS almost 5 years ago. And the other family, Jack and Marj, lost their baby girl, Tehlula Lee, when she was about 2 months old.

Both families continue to honor their little angels ... Jason and Amber through the March of Dimes with Team Isaac, and Jack and Marj through the Tehlula Lee Foundation. Their foundation works to ensure that all little babies have a headstone at their grave after seeing far too many without at their daughter's funeral.

This was Preston's first bowling experience and I'm so thrilled that we were able to support this cause.

Preston's quite the bowler and had a blast! Something tells me his 5th birthday party might be at the bowling alley!

Off To The Rodeo!

After taking Preston to the rodeo in Estelline last summer, I knew I had to take him again the next chance I had. The Jackrabbit Stampede was that opportunity. Once I found out my friend Kayla would be taking her kids, it was a done deal.

Preston was SO excited when I told him we were going!!

Ready to get things started!

This is Lucas, Kayla's little cowboy.

I had a lot of fun getting action shots througout the night.

Preston being silly with Kayla's daughter Hailey in the background.

Getting the bulls ready

And of course, the bull riding.

We went Saturday night for the finals. They had performances Friday night and Saturday afternoon as well.

I remember my Uncle Jim taking me and my sister to Crystal Springs when we were younger. I love going to the rodeo and am so excited that Preston loves it too! I hope Lilli Jo loves it as much as we do and can't wait to take her to her first one.

And yes ... I WILL be getting him some cowboy boots. And I will be getting a pair for myself too!

Easter 2013

The Easter Bunny made a stop at the Beringer house and even brought a package from Grandma & Grandpa with the Moose (aka Grandpa Jeff & Grandma Cindy)

{Preston gave you that moniker all by himself. You do know you can never get rid of that moose now, right?}

After presents and breakfast, we headed off to church with my family.
I wasn't quick enough to get pictures of the kiddos in their Easter best, so these will have to do.  :)

The Easter Bunny was very busy at Grandma and Grandpa Bjerke's house.

We had an excellent brunch after our Easter egg hunt and then we colored some eggs!

Hoping you all had a blessed Easter.
Alleluia! He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!!

Silly Kiddos

Dustin's New Truck

Everyone's heard the story by now ...

Dustin's truck got hit about a month ago, in the middle of the night. I'm still trying to figure out how none of us were woken up by it.

Here's Dustin's truck after the accident.

After about a week, we got her insurance information. We then had to wait another week or so to find out if she actually had insurance.

She didn't.

So we started the process with our insurance company.
An adjuster came out and decided to total the truck.
The whole process moved very quickly, which was nice considering we had been dealing with all this for a month.

Dustin and I had gone last weekend to test drive a truck and everything fell into place with insurance and our loan officer to get the truck we had checked out.  :)

Dustin loves it and so do I!
Now we wait to see what transpires ... our inurance company is seeking damages/our deductible.
I'm not holding my breath.

Just Keep Swimming

Preston started swimming lessons last Fall and they picked up again last week. He's still in Level 1, but I saw marked improvement from where we left off!
Preston was always very excited about swimming, but was terrified once we started to go in the water. That was not the case last week when he started lessons again. He couldn't wait to dunk his face in the water and float around the pool!

Listening intently.

{He wasn't. But it sure looks like he was.}

Superman float.

Superman float with rabbit kicks.

RABBIT KICKS!

More superman floating.

He also does turtle kicks (little kicks under the water with no splashing), floats on his back and sometimes dunks his head all the way under the water.
It's been fun watching him gain more confidence in the water. I think he'll be quite the fish!

The Kiddos

{Love them!}

Preston Sings in Church

The Sunday School kids sang in church today.
My old camera didn't allow for pictures of Preston (and Allie and Turner) singing in church, so I was quite excited to finally get some! Enjoy!

Preston started out in the second row.
{Some of the 1st graders in my class are right behind him.}

Evidently that didn't work for him. So he moved up front.

More room to do the actions in the song (Dem Bones Gonna Rise Again).
And right next to Turner. :)

Miss Allie

They finished with Our Father (one of my favorites).

They did an excellent job!
{Next time I'll try to get video.}
